About

Meet Isabella
Hi! My name is Isabella and I am the founder of Surya Bella Wellness.
Through my work as a holistic health practitioner and yoga therapist, I guide others in reaching their ultimate state of physical and mental health. I specialize in natural healing for anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and abuse recovery.
By utilizing the tools of yoga therapy, Ayurvedic medicine, Western clinical herbalism, holistic nutrition, meditation, and deep inner inquiry, we get to the root of the problem. I don’t believe in quick-fixes or BandAid approaches, I take a whole-person, integrative method to mental wellness – a full life transformation! I approach each person individually, helping them to find the natural tools that work for them to support them along their healing journey.
My Journey Within
I know firsthand how devastating it is to feel hopeless in the search for answers to health problems. Throughout my life, I have struggled with various physical and mental health issues. I spent years searching for answers, bouncing from doctor to doctor without getting any relief. Finally, I took my health into my own hands and delved into the world of natural medicine and holistic healing, where I finally found the answers I was looking for.
But my journey to holistic health and wellness was not a straight line, and I did not start off on the best foot.
When I was younger, I didn’t feel very connected to my body or soul. I spent most of my time partying and studying, engaged in mind-numbing activities. But when I was 18 years old, I went through a transformative experience during a trip to Israel and decided to leave my university studies behind in pursuit of a simpler and more meaningful existence.
My travels took me around the world, backpacking through Israel and Europe, until I ended up in a yoga teacher training program in Rishikesh, India. My time in Rishikesh was tumultuous, filled with difficulties and tough lessons along the way. But through all the darkness, I also found a connection with God and with myself. I slowly cultivated a deeper connection with my body, listening to my voice and honoring the inner being that had been buried within me for so long.
In a very real way, yoga saved my life; it rescued me from the depths of addiction and self-destruction. It also supported me in my recovery from domestic abuse and childhood trauma, and has brought me towards a deeper pursuit of mental balance and freedom from suffering.
Although I still experience struggles on my journey every day, yoga has given my life meaning and has put me on a path where I finally feel like myself. But I know that my road has a long way to go before I reach “the end” (if that even exists).
A Brighter Future
As I studied yoga further, I realized that before I could begin to try and move to the higher levels of spirituality, I first needed to address my physical imbalances and health issues. Without a stable body and mind, spiritual understanding cannot be achieved.
After living in India for 6 years and opening myself up to this new realm of life, I returned to America to complete my degree in psychology, biology, and religious studies in the hopes of creating a true mind, body, and soul connection. I then pursued certifications in Western clinical herbalism, holistic nutrition, health and wellness coaching, Ayurveda, and yoga therapy to further round out my understanding of physical, mental, and spiritual health. And I am now completing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling to offer holistic trauma therapy services.
It is now my goal to help guide others to discover their own inner healing capacity, to experience the power of natural medicine, and to move into a greater state of physical and mental balance so that they can achieve new heights in their spiritual journey.
If you are struggling in your recovery from trauma, know that you are not alone. And I would be honored to walk alongside with you on this beautiful path of healing.
